About
Mike got his start in HVAC at 22, fixing residential heat pumps in 100°F Austin summers. By 27 he was running a four-tech shop in Pflugerville. By 35 he had cycled through five different field service platforms — including two that went out of business mid-contract — and decided that what the trade really needed was an honest reviewer who actually knew the work.
Today Mike writes FieldServiceCompare full-time. He still rides along with contractors he reviews for, because writing about software you’ve never seen used in a 110°F attic is how you end up recommending Salesforce to a one-truck shop.
When he isn’t reviewing software, Mike is usually arguing on r/HVAC about why Manual J calculations actually matter, or trying to convince his neighbor that a heat pump can heat a Texas home below 30°F.
